About Us

Albi Sushi is a small business run by a husband-and-wife team.  It features a variety of unique fusion flavours and carefully curated ingredients, which cater to both sushi enthusiasts and those looking for new taste experiences.  The chef-crafted sauces enhance each dish, ensuring that every bite delivers an unforgettable flavour journey.  Albi Sushi strives to make sushi a more exciting and engaging experience through taste, quality and appearance.

Our Story

As a child, growing up in the streets of a bustling city in the Philippines, Albert developed a passion for food from not having.  At the age of 7 he learned to handpick and purchase groceries on his own.  By age 14 Albert became the breadwinner of his family, supporting his parents and brothers.

Albert developed a love for sushi and its artistry, while working for 9 years under the tutelage of a traditional Japanese sushi chef, securing the knowledge of how to prepare fish and seafood to a high standard.

In 2013, Albert moved to Canada and worked in various restaurants in and around Toronto which opened up his palate to a world of different flavours, textures and cuisines. Through experimentation and exploration, Albert began winning praise and awards from chefs at various well-known restaurants.

Amid the pandemic when restaurants were closed for dine-in, Albert seized this opportunity to start his own business from home.  This was the beginning of Albi Sushi + Kitchen!  From selling from home to friends and family, it quickly grew to corporate catering, food festivals and finally opening a kiosk at a Toronto shopping centre.
